Inspiration from the Skin of a Shark
What do sharks strike in people other than fear? For Dr. Anthony Brennan, associate director of the Center for Macromolecular Science and Engineering, the shark has been a source of inspiration. Brennan has developed a coating inspired by shark skin which prevents adhesion of marine organisms such as algae and barnacles.
